About the Journal

Aim

eVitroKhem: Journal of Biomedical & Chemical Engineering Innovation is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal dedicated to the advancement of innovative research at the interface of biomedical sciences and chemical engineering. The journal aims to foster the development and dissemination of novel methodologies, technologies, and applications that address current and emerging challenges in health, medicine, and bioindustry. It serves as a platform for engineers, scientists, and clinical researchers to share transformative ideas that bridge molecular design, materials science, bioprocessing, and medical technology, with a focus on translational impact and sustainable innovation.

Scope

eVitroKhem publishes original research articles, comprehensive reviews, technical notes, and perspective pieces that explore fundamental and applied aspects of biomedical and chemical engineering. The journal welcomes contributions that promote innovation in both theoretical frameworks and experimental approaches across a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Biomaterials and Biointerfaces: Design, synthesis, and characterization of materials for tissue engineering, drug delivery, diagnostics, and implantable devices.

  • Bioprocess Engineering: Advances in cell culture systems, bioreactor design, scale-up strategies, and process intensification for the production of biologics and bioactive compounds.

  • Biomedical Devices and Microfluidics: Development of lab-on-a-chip systems, biosensors, and diagnostic devices with applications in clinical and point-of-care settings.

  • Chemical Biology and Therapeutics: Engineering of molecular tools, targeted therapies, and bio-conjugates for disease detection and intervention.

  • Computational Modeling and Simulation: Application of systems biology, molecular dynamics, and process modeling to understand biological systems and optimize engineering solutions.

  • Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering: Innovations in scaffolding technologies, stem cell engineering, and bioprinting for tissue repair and organ regeneration.

  • Synthetic Biology and Metabolic Engineering: Design and manipulation of biological systems for the production of pharmaceuticals, biomaterials, and functional compounds.

  • Biomedical Imaging and Nanotechnology: Engineering of contrast agents, imaging platforms, and nanoformulations for diagnostics and theranostics.

  • Sustainable and Green Chemistry in Biomedical Applications: Strategies for environmentally conscious design and production of biomedical materials and systems.

Visibility and Open Access:
The journal follows an open access model, which maximizes the visibility of published articles.

Frequency of publication:
The journal follows a continuous publication model, where articles after acceptance are typeset and published in a single volume per year. Therefore, the call for submissions is permanently open.

Speed of publication:
The journal manages the following times of the editorial process: 5 days for the first response from the section editor or pass to peer review; 30 to 45 days responses from the editor on the observations of peer reviewers; 5 to 7 days in layout, metadata uploading and publication on the journal's site.
The editorial team combines rigorous peer review with the efficient timing of the editorial process, which is done exclusively in electronic format.

Promotion and dissemination strategy:
The journal develops a strategy to promote and position published articles on social networks and web platforms, which contributes to increase exposure and access to the articles.
